The Portuguese Association for Quality (APQ) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1969, having been recognized as a Public Utility Institution in 1984. Its purpose is to promote and disseminate theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Quality and Excellence in Portugal.
APQ develops its activities individually or in partnership with other entities, seeking to present innovative and mobilizing solutions, creating value for Associates and contributing to the sustainable development of Portuguese society.
Headquartered in Lisbon, APQ has Regional Delegations in various parts of mainland Portugal (Porto and Faro) and in the Archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira, allowing a wide geographic coverage of the country and, consequently, a great proximity to companies and other economic agents.
In its statutes, APQ considers four categories of associates: collective (companies and other public or private organizations) singular (individuals), underwriters (students) and fees (singular associates whose merit towards APQ has been recognized). APQ currently has around 1000 members, including individuals and organizations, with collective members covering all sectors of activity and regions and including many of the largest companies in the country.
