PROALGA is a private, non-profit association with legal personality and its purpose is to promote, defend and boost the interests of algae producers (microalgae and macroalgae) and to represent them in decision-making bodies, public organizations and other public and private institutions, whether national, EU or foreign.

In order to achieve its objectives, PROALGA has the following duties:

a) Develop actions that directly promote and defend the interests of its members before public or private entities;
b) To coordinate and support the initiatives of its members with a view to defending the quality of the algae produced, as well as expanding its production and consumption in different markets;
c) Collaborate with its members and external entities to boost the sector;
